Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, an educationist, philanthropist and a business
magnate is popularly known for his innovative business ventures
around the world.
With a modest beginning as a humble educationist, he started the Vaels Educational Trust in the year 1992 with 36 students. In 2017, The Vels Group celebrated its 25 years of commitment to excellence in education with more than 25,000 students, 25 institutions and 5000 staff. His efforts to provide quality education to all sections of the society are renewed every year.

Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh was born on 07.10.1966 in Old Washermanpet, Chennai to Shri Isari Velan former deputy Minister of Tamilnadu and Mrs. Pushpa Isari Velan. He is the second son in the family and has two younger sisters. The family is a moderate middle class family.
Dr. Ishari K.Ganesh and his spouse Dr. Arthi Ganesh are the two pillars of this giant empire of a conglomerate.
Dr. Arthi Ganesh is one of the popular educationists known for her innovative methods in creating new academic delivery models in school education. She frequently provides consultations to several new entrants and underperforming institutions. She possesses strong connections with senior educationists and women activists in India and organizes women empowerment activities every year. As the Vice – President of Academic Affairs, she manages all the schools under the Vels consolidation. She is a role model for aspiring individuals in taking up serious responsibilities and ensuring results at a very young age.
Dr. lshari K. Ganesh is blessed with two daughters and a son. Ms. Preetha Ganesh, first daughter of Dr. Ganesh is a national topper at school and is currently pursuing engineering programme in the field of computer science.
Ms. Kushmitha Ganesh, second daughter of Dr. Ganesh is pursuing her ‘A’ levels and his son Sarvesh is pursuing junior schooling.

The hospital strives to relieve the suffering and improve the quality of life for patients with advanced illness and offers support to their families. The hospital provides treatment, medicine and food free of cost.

He plants 365 saplings every year by involving NSS volunteers, a count that means one for each day.

IsariGanesh | Woman’s Empowerment Awards 2018
Dr. Isari Ganesh, Founder and Chancellor of Vels University presented the Women’s empowerment award 2018 in association with Panache Events and Branding. 12 women from various industries were carefully shortlisted by the Jury for the 2018 edition of the Women’s Empowerment Awards 2018.
Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented the awards at Vels University Campus Pallavaram Chennai on 25th September 2018. Dr. IsariGanesh, recalled in his address that, when he started his first institution in 1992, there were only 36 students and 10 staffs out which 50% of them were Women and today after 25 years, with 25000 students and 5000 staffs working in more than 25 institutions more than 50% of their work force are women and more than 70% of the head of various departments are Women.
Isari Ganesh also added the University has signed an MoU with PDS of Jharkhand to help the young girls and boys in the 5 rural districts becoming the knowledge partner providing technical and academic expertise essential for the proposed Lahanti University in Jharkhand.

On 27th and 28th of September 2018, Ethiraj College for Women, Indian Economic Association (IEA) and Tamil Nadu Economic Association (TNEA) conducted a national conference titled “Economic Development of India in Global Perspective”.
Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit attended the conference as the chief guest and honored the Chancellor of Vels University, Dr. IsariGanesh with the Maritime Skills Education Award for excellence in the field of Maritime Education.
In 2008, Dr. Isari Ganesh became the youngest founder chancellor of a deemed to be university in India and also the first educationist in India to offer maritime education in private sector, since 1999.

As the Senior Vice President of Tamil Nadu Olympic Association & Founder Chancellor of Vels University (VISTAS) & Dr. Isari Ganesh honoured the Asian game medal winners in Squash, Sunayana Kuruvilla, Joshua Chinappa and Harindar Pal Sandhu during the general body meeting of Tamil Nadu Olympic association on 23rd September 2018.
In an interview after the Annual General Body meeting, Dr. IsariGanesh shared his enthusiasm for sports. Isari Ganesh is a kabaddi Player and an athlete who excelled in hundred meters during his school and college days. More than 500 students, including sportsmen are offered with free education at Bachelor and Masters levels at Vels University. IsariGanesh added that his support to sports personalities and sports development will continue in full vigour.
