Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh was born on 07.10.1966 in Old Washermanpet, Chennai to Shri Isari Velan former deputy Minister of Tamilnadu and Mrs. Pushpa Isari Velan. He is the second son in the family and has two younger sisters. The family is a moderate middle class family.

Spending his early childhood as the son of a humble stage drama artist, Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh journeyed a tough path to even complete his college education. Following the demise of his father when he was just 19 years old, he struggled to pay his college fees and house rent as the family had lost the sole breadwinner.

Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh is a self-made man with a vision, zeal and enthusiasm, who had first-hand experience in facing the harsh reality of poverty struck families and the transformation that educational empowerment can bestow on their socio-economic development. With the experience he gained in his youth, inspiration drawn from his father, with sheer hard work, devotion and dedication, he has been making pathbreaking achievements.

Today, Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh is an illustrious educationist and the Youngest Founder Chancellor of a deemed to be university in India. Dr. Arthi Ganesh is one of the popular educationists known for her innovative methods in creating new academic delivery models in school education. Dr. lshari K. Ganesh is blessed with two daughters and a son. Ms. Preetha Ganesh, first daughter of Dr. Ganesh is a national topper at school and is currently pursuing engineering programme in the field of computer science.

Ms. Kushmitha Ganesh, second daughter of Dr. Ganesh is pursuing her ‘A’ levels and his son Sarvesh is pursuing junior schooling.

Dr. Ishari K.Ganesh is a distinctive self-made personality, who believes in deeds and not mere words, was born on 07 .10.1966. Born in a middle class family, he had to taste the bitterness of life in his attempts to secure admission in high profile educational institutions.

Dr. Ishari K.Ganesh, studied in Bharat Senior Secondary School, Chennai till 10th standard (1977-1982) and pursued higher secondary education in Hindu Senior Secondary School, Chennai (1982-1984).

After completion of B.Com and M.Com between 1985 and 1990 in Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai, he once again proved his leadership qualities and became the student’s union secretary of Pachaiyappa’s College in the year 1987-1988.

He continued his tryst with education as a student and obtained various other degrees under distance education from the University of Madras. He is currently pursuing his M.L Degree from Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.

Dr. Ishari K.Ganesh has offered immeasurable dedication to grow the values and international popularity of Tamil language and its culture. He draws motivation from Kalaignar Dr. M. Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and frequently seeks advice from him and his associates to create opportunities for the development of Tamil language.

Dr. lshari K. Ganesh promotes Tamil literature, art, music, dance and drama in many ways. He funds and organizes several Tamil cultural programmes in India and abroad. He provides pension to retired and struggling drama artists and offers free education to their children and grand children in his institutions.

IsariGanesh | Woman’s Empowerment Awards 2018

Dr. Isari Ganesh, Founder and Chancellor of Vels University presented the Women’s empowerment award 2018 in association with Panache Events and Branding. 12 women from various industries were carefully shortlisted by the Jury for the 2018 edition of the Women’s Empowerment Awards 2018.

Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented the awards at Vels University Campus Pallavaram Chennai on 25^th September 2018. Dr. IsariGanesh, recalled in his address that, when he started his first institution in 1992, there were only 36 students and 10 staffs out which 50% of them were Women and today after 25 years, with 25000 students and 5000 staffs working in more than 25 institutions more than 50% of their work force are women and more than 70% of the head of various departments are Women.

On 27th and 28th of September 2018, Ethiraj College for Women, Indian Economic Association (IEA) and Tamil Nadu Economic Association (TNEA) conducted a national conference titled “Economic Development of India in Global Perspective”.

As the Senior Vice President of Tamil Nadu Olympic Association & Founder Chancellor of Vels University (VISTAS) & Dr. Isari Ganesh honoured the Asian game medal winners in Squash, Sunayana Kuruvilla, Joshua Chinappa and Harindar Pal Sandhu during the general body meeting of Tamil Nadu Olympic association on 23rd September 2018.

Shri Isari Velan, father of Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh was one of the founding members of ADMK, along with Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ Dr. M.G. Ramachandran. He served as the Deputy Minister of Information and Publicity, Religious Endowments and Forests between 1977 and 1980. Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh started to assist his father with his social services at the young age of 12.
Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh developed his leadership qualities since schooling. While pursuing his, B.Com. at Pachaiyappa’s College in Chennai, in view of serving the student community, he contested in student union elections and emerged victorious in the year 1987, as the student union secretary of Pachaiyappa’s College.
