PALLIATIVE CARE

Dr. Ganesh has also been instrumental in establishing, a one of its kind Palliative Care Hospital, in memory of his late father, Shri Isari Velan Mission hospital.

The hospital is equipped with 150 beds, in Thalambur, off Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai and was opened by Dr. Shantha, a popular oncologist in India.

The hospital strives to relieve the suffering and improve the quality of life for patients with advanced illness and offers support to their families.

The hospital provides treatment, medicine and food free of cost.

Dr Ishari K. Ganesh, as a keen philanthropist, always takes part in relief operations when

humanity is struck with natural calamities, through financial and material assistance.

Donations are given every month to the poor cine artists through Nadigar Sangam from Amarar Isari Velan Charitable Trust Fund.

Contributions started from the year 2008. INR 1 lakh per month has been distributed totalling to INR 84 lakh as on date.

Every year, on his father’s Memorial Day he distributes free clothes to the poor.

Dr.lshari K.Ganesh chose education as the line of his career because it enabled him to touch lives by offering them all that creates a positive difference in their lives.

Apart from the financial contributions provided, around 560 students from various states and provinces in India are entirely funded by him to pursue an education in the field of their choice at Vels University, every year.

 

An annual fund of INR 1.5 crore is spent for providing education to this segment of students.

Every year the number of subsidised or free education service for carefully selected students below the poverty line keeps increasing.

The ultimate aim of his charitable trusts is to promote education and light the life of an individual by supporting various educational institutions which are in need of assistance.

Besides that, financial help worth INR 6,00,000 annually, is also provided to students, studying in the institutions listed above.

Welfare Measures to Employees

  • Interest-free loans to the employees. So far, nearly INR 76 lakh worth of bursary has been sanctioned
  • Free Transport facility to staff members
  • Group Insurance Schemes -Accident insurance benefits are provided to all Teaching & Non-Teaching staff members for the sum assured which comes to nearly INR 18 lakh per-annum
  • Free annual medical checkups are organized
  • Free education to employees’ children INR 23 lakh worth of bursary have been sanctioned and 150 staff members have availed the benefit
  • Maternity leave with salary to the female staff members INR 40 lakh have been given as medical benefit so far and more than 120 employees availed the benefits
  • Health Cards to poor people near the institutions for availing medical services free of cost has been issued

Women Empowerment

Dr. lshari K. Ganesh involves himself in the development of women and their social empowerment by organising one day market for Women Self Help Groups every year and by conducting training camps for them. Women’s Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm in all institutions every year on 7th March. Eminent women personalities are honoured on this

occasion. So far 21 women have been honoured. Prominent among them include
