Dr. IsariGanesh, Founder and Chancellor of Vels University graced the inaugural function of Potheri Lake at Pallavaram. The residents of Pallavaram, Chennai have proved that, any social initiative with dedication and sincerity will lead to success.
Pasumai Peruga Sutham Sei, a trust that decided to restore the long-lost Potheri Lake went on to collect funds and permission to engage themselves in the activity in full force. With the support of the government officials, funds collected from the residents, a lot of man-hours and strong will power the lake has been restored by the people.
In his special address, The Chief Guest of the function Dr. Isari Ganesh quoted that “helping others to improve and succeed is one of the key elements of one’s own development”. IsariGanesh also encouraged the youngsters of the trust to continue their good efforts and offered them a space at the university to hold their meetings for this cause. Dr.Isari Ganesh also honored the key office bearers on stage.
IsariGanesh | Woman’s Empowerment Awards 2018
Dr. Isari Ganesh, Founder and Chancellor of Vels University presented the Women’s empowerment award 2018 in association with Panache Events and Branding. 12 women from various industries were carefully shortlisted by the Jury for the 2018 edition of the Women’s Empowerment Awards 2018.
Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented the awards at Vels University Campus Pallavaram Chennai on 25th September 2018. Dr. IsariGanesh, recalled in his address that, when he started his first institution in 1992, there were only 36 students and 10 staffs out which 50% of them were Women and today after 25 years, with 25000 students and 5000 staffs working in more than 25 institutions more than 50% of their work force are women and more than 70% of the head of various departments are Women.
Isari Ganesh also added the University has signed an MoU with PDS of Jharkhand to help the young girls and boys in the 5 rural districts becoming the knowledge partner providing technical and academic expertise essential for the proposed Lahanti University in Jharkhand.

On 27th and 28th of September 2018, Ethiraj College for Women, Indian Economic Association (IEA) and Tamil Nadu Economic Association (TNEA) conducted a national conference titled “Economic Development of India in Global Perspective”.
Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit attended the conference as the chief guest and honored the Chancellor of Vels University, Dr. IsariGanesh with the Maritime Skills Education Award for excellence in the field of Maritime Education.
In 2008, Dr. Isari Ganesh became the youngest founder chancellor of a deemed to be university in India and also the first educationist in India to offer maritime education in private sector, since 1999.

As the Senior Vice President of Tamil Nadu Olympic Association & Founder Chancellor of Vels University (VISTAS) & Dr. Isari Ganesh honoured the Asian game medal winners in Squash, Sunayana Kuruvilla, Joshua Chinappa and Harindar Pal Sandhu during the general body meeting of Tamil Nadu Olympic association on 23rd September 2018.
In an interview after the Annual General Body meeting, Dr. IsariGanesh shared his enthusiasm for sports. Isari Ganesh is a kabaddi Player and an athlete who excelled in hundred meters during his school and college days. More than 500 students, including sportsmen are offered with free education at Bachelor and Masters levels at Vels University. IsariGanesh added that his support to sports personalities and sports development will continue in full vigour.
Isari Ganesh receives CIYF Excellence Award
IsariGanesh received the CIYF Education Excellence Award for his contribution in the field of education.
The Chennai International Youth Fest 2018 is India’s massive conclave for youngsters organized by Youth Development Consortium and aided by Government of India & Government of Tamil Nadu. The event spanned for 2 weeks with its grand finale on 16th September.
The event involved participation of more than 15 lacs of young people from various parts of the world, participating in more than 250 events simultaneously happening in more than 70 venues across the state of Tamil Nadu.
Isari Ganesh has also organized several youth mela and recently hosted the National Youth Conclave on nation building at Vels University campus in Pallavaram. Honorable Member of Parliament Shri. Varun Gandhi graced the occasion and addressed the students.
IsariGanesh launched the single track of Kizhaku Africavil Raju.
Isari Ganesh launched the single track of his upcoming film Kizhakku Africavil Raju at the World MGR Peravai Delegates Conference. Leading film personalities and patrons of Dr.M.G.R attended the grand event at Vels University campus on 16th July 2018.
The film Kizhakku Africavil Raju is a dream project of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Puratchi Thalaivar, Makkal Thilagam Dr. M. G. Ramachandran. Due to his busy schedule in public administration, Dr. M.G.R was not able to fulfill his dreams and went into active social service.
IsariGanesh, son of Isari Velan, veteran drama artiste, film comedian and former deputy minister of Tamil Nadu has decided to fulfill the lost dream of the former chief minister and went to produce this dream project.
To mark its beginning, on January 17th 2018, Isari Ganesh launched the movie’s production at Sathya Studios. Super Star Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan graced the occasion with their presence. Many celebrities from the film industry and veteran actors and actresses attended the grand function.

Duraisamy along with many more followers of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Makkal Thilagam, Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M. G. Ramachandran organized the World MGR Peravai Delegates Conference on 16th July 2018 at Vels University Campus, Pallavaram.
The event started at 9.00 am in the morning and had a jam packed & well-organized programs till 9.00 pm. Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Honorable Minister of school education Thiru. K. A. Sengottaiyan, Honorable Education Minister of State in Sri Lanka, Thiru. Isari Ganesh felicitates young students of his Vels Swim School after they won the TNSAA team championship. As keen sports enthusiast, he encourages students with sports talent with free education in his schools and university. The Vels Swim School is an elite swim school that aims to train Indian swimmers to compete in international swimming competition and prepare them for the Olympics to represent India. The school is adorned with first class facilities with competition grade swimming pools at the Vels International Sports Arena at Injambakkam, Chennai.
IsariGanesh is also the president of Taekwondo Federation of India and Tamil Nadu Taekwondo Association. He is also the senior vice president of Tamil Nadu Olympic Association.

IsariGanesh hosted the Chennai Chapter of Daily Thanthi’s Vetri Nichayam at Vels University Campus, Pallavaram, Chennai on May 1 2018. Additional Director General of Police of the Indian Railways, Tamil Nadu, Shri. Sylendra Babu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The grand event organized at Vels University aimed at providing guidance for 10th and 12th grade students on career planning. The event also included workshops and seminars for students to help them understand the vast job opportunities and talent demands in our nation for which they can equip themselves and cease the opportunities upon graduation.
Free bus facilities were provided for students from various parts of Chennai to attend this event and free books on career planning and procedures to apply for government civil services were offered to the students.
In his special address, Isari Ganesh expressed his strong support to Daily Thanthi’s initiatives for the past 17 years in empowering students with Vertri Nichayam, one of the best career-oriented fests in India for students in school.
IsariGanesh’s Team “VELS WARRIORS” wins the IBL Cricket Cup for two years in a row
Isari Ganesh is on a hat-trick. His “Vels Warriors” a cricket team with businessmen from various industries wins the Indian Business League Cricket Tournament twice in row. The team also bagged an enormous win in 2017 edition of the Indian Business League Cricket Tournament.
The one-day tournament was graced by the presence of Mr. Kiran Kumar presenting the trophy to the winning team. The Chairman of Kerry Indev Logistics Mr. Xavier Britto also attended the presentation ceremony to congratulate IsariGanesh and his team.
Isari Ganesh organizes the Muthamizh Vizha at Vels University
IsariGanesh and Vels University’s Department of Tamil organized the Muthamizh Vizha at Vels University Campus Pallavaram Chennai. The event focused on the development of Tamil Language by encouraging the scholars who patronizes the classic nature of Tamil and its rich literature that dates back to several thousand years.
Isari Ganesh has time and again offered his support in nurturing the Tamil Literature and it’s encourages active participation of students and staff in involving themselves in Tamil Iyal, Isai and Nadagam.
In an interview after the event, he recalled that he inspires our language and respects the deep root tradition of Tamil culture. Isari Ganesh produces several Tamil films and distributes them around the world as he heads three production companies as namely, Prabhudeva Studios, Vels Film International and G.V. Films Limited.
IsariGanesh receives the Pride of Tamil Nadu Awards
IsariGanesh received the Pride of Tamil Nadu award for the excellent contribution in the field of Education. The Pride of Tamil Nadu is organized by MSRT 39 in order to identify the most deserving experts in 14 different fields who have really contributed to the development of the State of Tamil Nadu.
The nominations are selected by the core team of MSRT 39 and a Jury of 6 highly qualified panel members. After the nominations, MSRT 39 opens the forum for the people of Tamil Nadu to cast their votes to identify 14 personalities, each of the unique in their own fields who have contributed their time, effort and resources for the development of Tamil Nadu.
The event also raises funds to construct classrooms for school in rural parts of Tamil Nadu and help them improve the standards of academic delivery. Isari Ganesh expressed his happiness in receiving the award and added that this particular award has given him the motivation to push his limits further and beyond to continue his contributions and services to our Tamil Nadu. IsariGanesh also congratulated the organizing team for their initiatives to develop the infrastructure of schools in rural Tamil Nadu.

IsariGanesh received the Jeppiaar Education Excellence award organized by the Jeppiaar Engineering College Chennai for his 25 years of service in the field of higher education.
Earlier this year, Isari Ganesh also received the Provoke Lifestyle Award in the Best College Education Category organized by Provoke Life Style Magazine in Chennai.

In an interview after the ceremony, Isari Ganesh recalled that after the demise of his father during his college days, his families were literally on the streets unable to pay the rent of his house, having no money for food and his college fees.
IsariGanesh stated that it was his honesty, dedication and hard-work that put him on a path to success. Isari Ganesh advised the youngsters to follow their dreams with one hundred percent sincerity to achieve their goals.
